早幾年,有個朋友個女由gh插到sh下午班五年班,入到黎成績一般,上唔返聖心中學添.....我諗佢唔叻又插唔到班,但叻入到黎成績又一般,好難解釋

其實好多名校課程程度都會高, 分別在教學方法, 和interview時老師選學生眼光如何.

我唔mind 學校比reject letter 我, 因為大家一早在interview之中已經知道係mismatch, 好過入到來先知頂唔住...

My girl studied at SHam last year. We changed to another private school this year. She isn't the type that getting  outstanding result by "feeding" and "pushing". Though her result was not bad, but I can really see there will be no great improvement in the days after. The experience of mine and my friend tell is some kids can be pushed and some can't. Those couldnt be pushed is not identified to be "less smart", but they need another kind of interaction and education. If your kid is the latter, putting her in an traditional school will kill her fond of learning. That's really true. If you can afford, choose the one you believe your kid will enjoy rather than the one you believe their adcademic is guaranteed.

Dear Lui,  Your reply is really why I m still struggling which school I should let her in.  To me, I m also the one who experienced "feeding" n "pushing" learning environment. I know that the academic result will be fine anyway, but I (MAY) turn out stopping my girl's right brain development.  May I know which private school your girl is currently studing?

Hi shusiusiu,
Again, we have 1 more similarity..   I was graduated from one of the Canossian Schools  in Kln. side.  I do have special feelings and passion abt the Canossian schools, for sure.  By the time we applied SHCS, we didn't enclose any portfolios or information abt I was once in the Canossian family.  I just leave everything to God and believe he will take care of the rest.  

I would say, after 1 night's thought and some friends' advice, I tend to buy SHCS more...   I guess each family has its own concern and it seems like studying in SHCS is more feasible at this moment.  I do really enjoy spending much time with my daughter and my hubby likes the idea of half day school a lot.

SSCPS is a kind of every kid's dream school...fresh air..close to the nature..good environment/atmosphere..   
But we still can't figure out all the logistic arrangements.  Moving or not..transportation...

Price of the properties these days has been rising a...lot.....  Renting a place in HK South/HK East is so expensive too.  I guess it's not wise to spend a year's tution fee per month (incl. housing, transportation, school fees. ECA fees) just to accomodate everything fit for her studying in SSCPS....   Well.. I hope we will make up our mind soon and we can release the seat to others asap.

I am also considering to change to another school. Tests and dictations every week are really too much. My girl is really obedient, so she doesn't protest but only cries when her heart tells her there are still so many exercises she needs to do to get good marks. And I am like crazy buying exercises for her to practice and practice.

And I can't understang why our kids under local curricumlum need to do Chinese listening tests. We didn't learn to listen our mother tongue when we were kids, did we? As we grow up and interact normally with friends, we can learn to listen, right? Why need to put listening Cantonese in the formal curriculum? But in order for my girl to get good marks, I even need to buy those exercises on the market to let her practice. How sad!

Hi kcPooh,

Well...chances of obtaining an offer fm DGJS is kind of low..

The competition is extrememly keen, I mean when studying inside...  
I bet it's a really tiresome journey for striving an excellence at all time with your kid.....  competing with the topguns in town at all time..   WOW))))  it's a BIG thing...
I am more than happy to be an ordinary, less pressured human being...

For all similarity, what a conincident!  I didn't inform the school that I was one of the old girl too!

I think I will have the same decision as yours.  Let me tell you one more thing: I m living in Bonham Road which is very close to Caine Road.  Regarding to my research n friends' advice,  SHCS seems to be the best decisions for me.  Maybe I should let my girl to sleep one hour more.  Haha.

根據該校官方資料，中七畢業生升讀本地大學學位課程連年下跌，由高峰期九成大跌至五六成，整體已跌至Brand 2水平。而升讀IVE或副學士的中七畢業生，則不斷上升。

Dear Shusiusiu,

Thanks for sharing.  Even though my daughter is now studying in a traditional kindergarten, I'm still scared about the workload and pressure of Sacred Heart.  Just wonder if a working mom (I personally am one) could be capable to cope with the workload, demand and expectation of the school.  

Really need to deliberate, for choosing a suitable school for my daughter.
