In fact, there is no special skills to ask is good. I just called them 2 times.
First, mid of April, I knew they have sent out the letters to waiting kids, then, I called them and check if I missed the mail or I havn't it (coz I moved to a new address and never inform KV) and then she checked & called back said no mail for me.
Second time, I knew they were calling the waiting again, and then, I called them to check if I missed the calls or not coz I always stayed in China during early of May. And she said all parents they have catched up & no miss la. Then I request her to check if I have chance or not and she said sorry that can't to check for me as too many waiting students and will call you if available. And very interesting she said that you may know have chance or not, it was because base on the performance during the interview and not by luck to call waiting. Thus, I feel hopeless to finish the call. Luckily, she called me back by tomorrow but she didn't ask me the name before....
I hope this may be help for you to call KV.
