我地係第一批(8:15am)見o既，每一批再分五組，每組18人，一組跟一組去課室，家長就留o係禮堂看video。由指定到達時間至小朋友出黎，大約35分鐘，實際面試時間約20分鐘。

是的，因為對其他已面試的家長不公平，所以只有等明天下午才可以揭盅。

換個角度，如果我個仔今年都係int SPC, 我o係面試完成前話你聽考d乜，你都唔應該信我，因為我可能會跣你，增加我個仔o既2nd int機會。我亦覺得，咁樣等於偷步睇試題，小朋友唔應該學咁樣走捷徑。

話說回來，不如好好地鼓勵佢，等佢開開心心面試啦!

I think it is more of a mindset problem.  Parents should not think that knowing the interview questions (even if it is possible) a little in advance can let them train their children within a very short time - we should never promote the 臨急抱佛腳 attitude.  Most interviewers can tell whether the performance is a result of short-term, intensive training or long-term accumulation and penetration.

If a child can be trained so that he/she feels excited about attending an interview, the parents will be half-way to success.

Only fewer than 1400 applicants this year, according to the time allocation table for 1st interviews.

"Related" applicants have 10 marks (20%) added to the 1st interview only.  No more extra marks for 2nd interview.

The way the answer was given (or not given) is important too, not just the answer itself.  E.g. I don't think a child who answered all questions correctly but arrogantly would advance to 2nd interview, whereas a child who politely admitted he did not know the answer would.

If this is true, I think most kids cannot answer but only a talent 8 ...

It's written in the 1st interview notification slip, not the "notes to applicants" enclosed with the application form.

第二輪約見
時間：學校將於2010年10月6日發信通知家長約見時間

我就唔會等到最後一日先至打去查詢，好似你話齋，電話可能打唔通；我家過往郵遞無大問題，6/10(wed)寄信出黎無理由11/10(mon)仍然收唔到，所以我就會12/10就打去問。

This is different from (and better than) previous year's practice, where only those advancing to 2nd interviews received notifications and the rejected candidates would only receive notification when admission was announced.

Called the school today, they said parents will receive a letter from them in the next few days.

We are not very nervous...the chance is as slim as winning 1st prize of Mark Six, so why worry too much :)

My son told me all the children in his group of 6 were willing to tell the story and most answered the teachers quite well.  

He has never been one of the top ones in class, either in behaviour, competition performance or fluency.  As the 1st interview only selects 1 out of 5 (300:1388), it would be at least worth a 2nd prize in Mark Six if he could advance to the next round.

don't think your son's chance is slim....my son told me that many boys refuse to tell story and did not co-operate on the interview day, I also saw 2 b ...

I received the rejection letter a while ago too.

Just a little disappointed, but there is still a long way to go.  If you need to shed some tears, go for it.  Don't be sad for too long, because as parents we need to sort out our emotions quickly and move on to face other interviews.

As I said in an earlier post, getting a place in St Paul Boys is like winning the 2nd prize of Mark Six.  If you had not won the 2nd prize before, you need not be too upset.
