有D奇怪？今日收到教育處的信要我確認參加大抽獎

照我理解,   教育處話比私校聽都唔會取消個私校位 (有小部份學校除外, 不過應該註冊時會講...) 我個間督冇講過...
問題係其實我仲有另一間私校收我個仔, 亦已註冊 (不過已準備12月內放番個位出來) , 但封信入面只有 ...

政府做嘢就係咁莫名奇妙，出呢封信嘅目的爲何？係幫私校？但人哋辦得好洗咩驚，而在商言商，我相信私校都知好多家長都係搵間優質嘅私校做backup,大抽獎有時難過登天，特別要誇區！而家政府咁做，好似我係香港公民有病去睇公去醫生，爲咗多重保障，自己比錢睇埋私立，跟住政府威脅我會話比我個私家醫生知，搞到你同個私家醫生之間好尷尬，佢又唔諗吓派位係兒童嘅福利，比錢去考私校我哋同私校之間嘅事，唔敢compulsory，因爲言不通名不順，浪費d時間資源做d咁無謂嘅嘢,搞好個教育制度好過！

Dear Parents
I am rather puzzled by this government letter also.

My daughter got accepted by three private schools (but the letter only stated two of them??) and today we also got an offer today from the fourth school (our dream school!) , which the government did not know yet. At the same time, we got the offer from a good government aided school in the first round (the second best on our list) , I will give up the first three private school but need some time to choose between the fourth school and the aided school, having to reply by end of the month is too rush. We wont hold the place for long, but just want to spend some time to think about it, any advice please?

但唔係註冊咗先算咩? 我哋都有幾間私小收咗, 而封信只mention註冊咗嗰間私小。

Once you registered with the 4th school, EDB will issue another letter to include the 4th school on the list and ask you for the decision again.

我岩岩打去"禮賢"問, 講明我已交留位費 & 會參加大抽獎, 個職會話無影響, 現階段交左留位費就唔會取消個學位.

I received a similar letter, but it is related to the discretionary place, not central allocation ("lucky draw"):

QUOTE

Our records indicate that the private primary schools listed above have offered a P1 place to your child...Since you have also registered your child for a P1 place in an aided or goverment primary school, I would be grateful if you would kindly inform me whether your child will give the P1 discretionary place...

...a name list of those children who have been offered a P1 place in a private school and yet do not withdraw from the Primary One Admission System will be sent to the private primary school concerned.

UNQUOTE

The "Primary One Admission System" above should refer to both discretionary stage and "lucky draw" stage.

I wonder whether sending such letters is a new practice or it has been a common practice of EDB in the past.

In any case, I will send the reply slip soon so that the discretionary place can be released ASAP.
