emily: hmm, quite a few reasons.. i have 2 friends, both of their son goes to SMC. they are really smart decent kids, very polite, outgoing, athletic and with very good language ability. and i noticed that they don't really have a lot of homework/ requires tutoring or having tons of after school activities like the kids who goes to traditional schools, but they seems to know so much...very presentable when u talk with them. And then, cos this is an english school, i think that like most other couples, mothers are always more concerned about homework load and exams (cos my husband is the very very relax type that he thinks very highly of his son) I probably will be the one checking on his hw, and following up with exams. so if all the subjects(apart from chinese of course) will be in english, i think that I will be able to manage better. but honestly, according to my 2 friends, their kids learn to develop to study on their own even for exams(3 & 4th grader) and do thier projects & homework independently, little supervision was required by them. i am a working mom, this is really what I need. I don't think that going to school should be a stress to kids & parents...and this is the only school that i attended a 2nd interview so far. and all the rest of the other schools, we'll needs to wait until nov, and dec... |
