My experience with KV interview:

• Very organized and quick.
• My son speaks English mostly at that time but understand Cantonese.
  So when teacher realize that he speaks in English then the teacher asks me can he understand Cantonese.
  I said “yes”, and teacher immediately told him to touch his nose, raise hands (all in Cantonese) and my son can do all.
• My son got accepted, so I think if the child has better English than Cantonese, still have change to get accepted.
  
• BTW, I know a boy who speaks/understand little Cantonese and request for English interview and got accepted at the end as well.
  This is the only case I know that can interview in English (or no other people request).
  

Anyway, need to train up Cantonese before going to K1, otherwise, the kid will be so lost in class.
