Advice from SFA Parents please

Dear SFA parents,

My daughter luckily got the offer from SFA.  We would like to know more details of the school.  Appreciate your help please :

1.  Are all subjects taught in English (except Chinese)?

2. What is the name & publisher of the Chinese textbook?

3.  Is there any preparation course arranged by the school before the school starts in Sept?

4.  Is class discipline very strict?  (e.g. some schools don't allow kids to talk, move or go to toilet during lesson)

5.  How is the lunch arranged?  By the school?

6.  Is there any difference after the new principal Mr Lau joined?

1.  Only the main subjects e.g. English, General Studies and part of the Maths are taught in English. Chinese are taught in Putonghua. You cannot expect the Religious knowledge, P.E., Visual Arts and Music etc are also taught in English.

2.  中文書用啟思出版社的啟思語文新天地（普通話版）

3. There is 2 weeks preparation course in August

4. The discipline are good. My son do not tell me the school don't allow them to go to toilet during lesson.
But talking and moving in the lesson is not allowed.
They are not studied in kindergarten.

5.  Lunch can be ordered through the school or you can deliver the lunch box to the school by your helper.

6.  My son studing P.1 only, cannot answer this questions.

My son is very active, he cannot sit properly at home.
But he still like to study at SFA and we do not received any compliant from the teachers. I think the children can adapt quickly to the new environment.

How many students are there per class? Which eng textbook, Maths and general studies textbook are used? What grade or level? Are there a lot of test and dict per week??????? Please give some idea!!!!

English：My Pals are Here (Bk.2A,2B)
G.S.: New General Studies (Bk 1.1-1.4)
Maths: 廿一世紀現代數學 (一下，二上）
默書和測驗差不多每星期都有

ECA 是要付款
學費外，開學時還要交薄費，買補充作業等少量雜費

ECA 比外面的平，雜費也不貴，十分合理。
由於今年才讀小一，不知轉校長後有何分別。

在課程設計之內只有phonics，課外活動就有drama, phonics。

小女也有幸將於下年度成為SFA小一生，我總怕她追不上，想請問一下SFA P1 parents,
1）上了幾個月數學教到什麼程度？英數跟中數程度相若嗎？（我女兒在公文剛開始計乘數，不知能否追得上）

2）請問小一課外活動的YLE Cambridge,可以由Movers開始報嗎？

3）普通話要開始默拼音嗎？

4）中英默書何時開始默短句？

5）學校會否規定學樂器？
另外小朋友已習慣小一校園生活未，有何趣事。感謝各位指教！

1)雖然數學程度快了半年, 但小一也只是加減數, 鐘, 單雙數和月曆等, 英數是對應着中數的, 要做的都不難, 難在他們不小心
2)是否已pass了starter? 不過報movers的人也有不少是P.1的
3)小一開始是教聲母韻母
4)英默只是開頭一兩次默生字, 之後都有句子, 中默好似比較後期才會有句子
5)學校有派過通知話要學樂器,小三要學牧童笛, 但無嚴厲要求其他。

2）是的，女兒已完成Starters,SFA可以由Movers涵接實在太好了。（因外面CTR不收五歳讀Movers,最細要七歲），那請問費用貴嗎？

3）原來還未開始默拼音，謝謝您！

4）女兒英默是生字
