可幸得到APS的欣賞，其他學校都落弟了^_^

I am not sure whether the following are the reason for acceptance, but this is what my daugher has :

- learning 2 musical instructment ie. violin and piano (has completed Grade one Piano exam.)
- Got application form by sending envalope to school instead of downloading from website => to show sincerety
- studying in Famous KG in Kowloon Tong which is well-known in Good English teaching , my kid has not bad academic performance in school..eg, 3rd position in the class.
- 15 shields awarded form cambridge starter exam, extra-curriculum like Ballet, Abacus, drawing.
- used to participate in bible study group for kids organised by APSKT (but parents are not Christian)

My kid gets offer from APSKT, KTS, HKU港大同學會小學, 倍橋, 聖母小學....but definitely will take APSKT among all.

咦冇諗過application form的問題，我的是下載的，而我兒持有percussion grade 1 distinction和piano grade 3 merit的證書，percussion老師的推薦信(其中一位相當有名)，其他的課外活動可說是只有參與，沒有成績的

我認為各位家長諗多咗
音樂方面，校長講過好多次宣小唔係音樂小學，樂器係用嚟栽培學生嘅藝術同修養，並非訓練音樂家，導師提議嘅樂器亦很可能係小朋友未學過，其實好多學生入學前嘅音樂都係好一般。當然好多學生（包括自己）都學琴加管弦，不過管弦為主，琴為輔助。
至於reference letter，學校一向唔收porfolio，所以收咗都未必睇。
其實最重要係睇interview，包括小朋友等候時有冇傾計，可唔可以坐定睇書。所以就算interview答對所有問題都未必收。

This means 校長 focuses on the inside qualities (obedience, willingness to read, clamness in meeting strangers, ability to deal with pressure) plus reasonable academic performance ....... music skill level is not a key factor......

In my opinion, you're right.Although music counts in overall academic result, average in music would not affect your school performance significantly. Of course, most of the parents are very serious and pay lots of effort in musical instruments. However, APSKT is a traditional school and academic is always the top priority

大家都說得對, 學業行頭, 課外既奬項係 bonus, 當然越多奬就越能為學校增光, 咁收讀機會都大 d 啦~ 一路讀上 小六, 有槳就更可以寫封 reference letter 俾中學添~

老師講過，學生加入樂團最大得益係能學習合作同責任感，亦係現今小朋友最缺乏，當然對升中都有幫助。

我個女考到同樂器一定冇關，應該係一貫稳定的面試表現，自信和乖。
之前我都唔明點解佢有較多offer,直到校際朗誦節，眼見佢係坐得好定同好留心，就明了。好多小朋友，經提點都爬椅，企起身，左令右令，宣小考得淺，我諗小朋友要表現得好乖好定才行。
你們的小朋友在音樂上咁叻又行前咁多步，真是有點擔心呢！

誠心請教:Is it ABRSM ?已取了證書(即今年四月考),仔仔學了多久琴,便考三級呀?

他考的是ABRSM，8月30日考，10月16日收到成績，剛好趕及報名宣小
他4歲8個月開始學鋼琴，但因當時已學percussion，加上從小接觸音樂，所以視譜/聆聽/音樂感都比較強，考試的時候仔學了10個月
是我自己教他彈琴的，所以免費，哈哈

其實我兒情況有點似專人專科每天補習，我自己跟他練琴，成效一定比較高，再加上有時興之所至他可連續練琴(亦即上課啦)1.5小時，嚴格來說，是勤練習的成果

你很有辨法. 教自己孩子不容易的.
我認識的鋼琴老師媽媽, 可以教其他學生, 卻不願教自己孩子, 還說"有些錢是要讓人賺的".

實情是我幸運地有個合作又懂事的孩子，而他本身也是熱愛音樂，吃飯也會唱歌，當初我也不甚願意教他，心想最好你一直只學percussion就好，男孩玩percussion 很酷似的，所以一直拖到接近五歲才認真教他，鋼琴對他來說是bonus，如有朝一日他說要放棄，我也接受的，只要有我一天，他隨時可以重拾
