How to teach a 3 year old kid to gradually read independently?

Hi - My son loves to get us read books for him but is not willing to read on his own. I understand his vocabulary (both English and Chinese) may not be enough. But how can I gradually get him start picking up independently? I tried doing that in the library but then he just flipped the pages quickly and said that he finished.

我女現在四歲多, 半年前開始會自己讀. 不過佢現在見我得閒也都會要我伴讀,

首先要選對書, 程度要合適, 內容要合孩子口味.父母先要伴讀, 之後待孩子熟悉了內容, 便可一人一句讀, 從中建立孩子讀書的信心.ORT 係唔錯既選擇.

之後可以借/買同系列既書, 有時扮唔得閒, 叫佢自己睇住先. 我女初期會話: "我都唔識睇, 點睇呀?", 我會送下高帽: "你識好多字0甘叻, 無問題啦.", (當然要肯定佢真係識本書7成以上既字), 之後佢建立到信心, 就開始會自己睇.不過佢地依然會最喜歡和爸爸媽媽一同睇書.

三歲仲細, 肯自己看下圖畫都已經很不錯, 陪佢睇多一點, 佢喜歡上書本, 發現閱讀的樂趣, 始終有一日會自己睇.
