I have the same problem too.. PC or KV... i might put my girl in KV and my son in PC...

I picked pcps 9 years ago after I received offers from both kindergartens. My son is doing well n promoting to pcms without much hassle but lots of extra curricula to try out in school eg. Golf, martial art, drama n so on.
My young son had the exact situation while I picked kentville this time as I still stand a fair good chance to earn a place from pcps p1 since his brother was there already.
Fortunately he got a place from Dbspd this year n we are just cant wait to start school this sep
However, kentville is definitely the toughest kindergarten u can find in the city n I reckon it is too harsh for some kids. It's not a Mickey mouse kinder but rather like a pre-primary school to my understanding

Of course pcps & no need to worry for P1 & S1...it's like fighting in the war when you are applying for a P1 place, from enrolling for a school talk or seminar to interview...it's too tired!!!!   KV is not that tough, just if the parents want their kids to rank high would drill the kids to become robots!!! If you don't care their assessments not in full marks, that's not too difficult indeed and they are very happy and like to go to school very much!

Be honest, kentville's K3 teachers only drill n make lots of comparison within kids who admitted to various elite schools
Trained up the kids with weekly mental tests until the last week of K3(2012version)!
Off course it varies in classes for teacher 's attitude but they don't even bother to  organize any graduation ceremony with parental participation! It's definitely result oriented school rather than creating any good kindergarten memory

KV does not have PN class at all, if you want to apply K1, you have to wait until next Sept or October to apply K1 for your baby

So do you know the P1 placement result of KV?  (I mean not from the government lucky draw, but the DSS or private)

according from my record, usually KV K1 start to apply around OCTOBER, and your child should be 2 and 8 months old by next September to start K1. which mean your bb should born 2011 yr
