Thanks for the reply. Oh lucky that SMC accept my son, will definitely take that offer n give up the government allotment. But in case I dont get offer, only waiting list, then it means I can still register my old school n if later on got offer from other DSS or SMC, I can give up my old school place? I m kind of confuse. Coz someone mention, if register for government school for the first round, we cannot continue the DSS interviews coz they are government subsidies, we can only go ahead with the private school.

Max1130,
You can still go on your interview for DSS or private school, but you can only hold 1 place for your child.  So say if you registered in old school and afterward you receive offer from SMC, you will need to give up the place in old school and sign a letter for SMC to inform EDB that your place in old school is released for central allocation.

Thanks so much for the information. It clarify my concern. I really wish he will get second in and offer later on.

Btw, is SMC the only DSS schools u guys apply? How to compare SMC to Lam Man Chan? I applied LMC as well.

we received a waiting list letter from smc. content of the letter is that school will contact us if the other not paying the school fee in august.  however, we haven't attended any second interview.  i am in doubt that if there are still any vacancies for straight in now.  i just do not understand.  anyway, it is lucky for getting a waiting letter.

We r not current student .. Interviewed In second week of sept.

That is strange, I thought all waiting list or offer will only given to those have second interview. In this case, will anyone get offer without second interview?

1) reject

2) waiting list ( without 2nd interview)

3) waiting list ( 有2nd interview)

4) offer

Our 1st in was 14/9, up till now no call for 2nd in and no letter receive so far.......... not sure we are in the waiting list or not

If got the offer letter, is it a very 'thick' envelop with all forms u have to fill in? If receive 'thin' envelop, so needless to open, chance is low, right? So nervous these days and really want to get an offer.

If that is the case, will preferences given to children in the waiting list who completed 2nd interview? Anyway, the selection process is bit strange and parents can hardly guess the chances they have ... :(
