想請問大家會怎樣比教這兩家學校？我知道CKY偏像international school。但最近也好多家長對st stephens 的活動教育有好正面的評價。所以希望大家可以幫我分析一下！

我比較鍾意赤柱聖士提反, 是香港少有的寄宿學校, 可以訓練小朋友獨立和與人相處既能力, 間學校英文教學辦得不錯。而且仲係一條龍。

Plan for universities:

CKY offers only IBDP in the last 2 years. If students are interested in universities in HK they would apply through non-jupas

St. Stephens offers both DSE and IBDP (authorised recently).

Currently roughly 20% of universities places in HK are offered to non-jupas students.

I also have CKY and SSCPS offer on hand. I talked to a few existing SSCPS parents and their comments are positive, such as happy learning, and the school is adjusting the academic standard to a much higher level. They also accepted quite a large portion of siblings (40/60 this year) comparing to CKY. Really tough decision!

Actually both schls have pros and cons, SSCPS campus is old. Given there small number of students, I'm afraid they'll have a much higher school fee raise in the future, heard that they target to raise to >80k after they got IB. CKY has a much newer campus and smaller size class. I really don't know how to make this decision.

Thanks so much lovetungtung for sharing with me your thoughts!

My biggest question for CKY is the consistency of its strategy and motto. Many friends told me that CKY is a great school due to the wonderful headmistress. So if she retires, it is uncertain whether the PLK will continue to give the school as much autonomy as it does now.

For St Stephen's it is a wonderful school. And the reputation is more solid and the track record is splendid. But I am not sure whether it is still a "traditional" school. my son tends to do better in a more lively and nurturing environment.

Thanks a lot! Would be great if we can hear more sharing from other great parents!

MCLIAN Currently CKY is 59400 per yr, but probably will be raised to not more than 10% in the coming year or so. 發表於 13-1-15 13:20

SSCPS has a longer history and even without IBDP offered, it is still a band one school.

don't think all kids are suitable for IB and if I were you I would choose SSCPS.

We are prepared to send our kids to UK for high school or university. Therefore CKY seems to be the right choice as they go for IGCSE. However, I do worry about how long the principal will stay with the school, once they have a new principal, will there be a total change of the school direction? The lack of flexibility (i.e. kids cannot switch to traditional schl) is also my concern.

其實一間學校行左咁耐, 我覺得唔會話一轉校長就改過哂D野. 除非前人做得唔好先會改.
學校有一套咁好的模式, 之後的校長唔跟, 家長們都唔會同意.
如果因為呢點而憂慮, 我覺得不必要, 每所學校都有機會轉校長架啦.
我們自身的去向都未必知, 怎能去預料一所學校校長的去向, 而改變自己的decision呢?
只有看現在啦.

鄰居的兩名姪仔在st stephen讀緊小五及中一，她說姪仔英文的確很好，而且兩年前出了狀元後學校更提高了學業的要求！
但最令人頭痛的反而是操行的問題，她姪仔不時給同學欺凌，打架是等閒事，小五更有拍拖行為！因班主任是外國人，所以視爲閒事！有怒冇路數，轉校又唔知去邊好...
所以不要以為名校校風就好！其實自己聽了也嚇了一跳！
