What do you think?
Provided that the ISF official offer is 4.5mio, ESF and RC/DC with non-refundable NR of 400k-500k, I think it is the best buy for such a proven successful IS.

Yes we do, now struggling but likely give up as we have offers from other school though HKIS is better.

Then why not HKIS?  It probably has one of the best college placements in HK other than LPC and CIS

But from what I hear, these $500K debentures (I think the school recalled prev instruments and reissued 750 of these in 2005) are non-transferable and therefore  冇得炒.

But of course, as above posters said, it's one of the best IS so if you are keen to get your child in, then debenture holders have the highest priority and pretty much gets in with it. (Unlike ISF debenture holders - i personally know of 2 cases where the debenture holder couldn't get their child in and they ended up selling it on.)

But I heard from another post that the waiting list for HKIS debenture is over 10 years?!

Is HKIS redeeming the existing $500K debenture and then re-selling at a higher price of HK$2.0 Million?

Or HKIS does not redeem the existing debentures but issues other debenture of value of HK$2.0 Million?

Hi all, the 2012 series debenture was just introduced last July that value at 2mio. And just because of it, I think some of those waiting might withdraw as it is increased 4 folds. It is true that the debenture can only transfer to family members and can redeem at par value. Thus it is purely for placement priority only. We have offered the debenture which we have subscribed to the waiting last year but we are still thinking if we will pay for it.
Our concern with HKIS now is because the lower primary must be rebuilt next year and seems they have not yet come to a solution yet as the staffs told us in the interview. For GSIS and KJS/KGV, their redevelopment plan were either in progress or to be completed soon. As a result, these two years intakes will be affected most in the coming 4-5yrs....

Hi Shootaster, I can see from the letter that the old debenture was forced to redeem or not. But the one @2mio called 2012 series, I think the older one still exist.

We apply last year but in 2nd half we are told the debenture value becomes 2mio. The offer was posted a couple days ago.
