I would like to share my experience with you.
Both my kids study in an International School after they finished Grade 6 from local schools.
In year 11, both of them took the HKCEE (not DSE) Chinese Language examination. Both of them got a pass. Apart from the prescribed passages section, they could score 5 or 5* in other section, especially on composition and oral section. I did not arrange any tutor king to give tuition to them. Neither did I ask them to do drilling exercise for the examination because they were busy in Grade 11. They learnt their Chinese in the Chinese Language Class in the International school. They focused on writing, expression and comprehension.
I tend to think that if the kids can write and read more during their leisure time, it would help their Chinese standard. Coupling with the examination technique taught by the tuition kings, I think it is not difficult to achieve high grade in the DSE.
