Hi, 我係Carol,剛剛加入成為會員,住在九龍.  我有一個囡囡,現在1歲3個月.  請問有沒有好的playgroup介紹?

Tutor Time in Kln Tong is pretty good as a playgroup, but it's not cheap at all. Each session is for 1.5 hours - 45 mins in Mandarin, and 45 mins in english, and both are taught by native speakers. Both my sons attended Tutor Time just before they turned 1 1/2 and they both liked it.

I only sent mine there for 2 days a week, and it cost $2650. If you send him there for 5 days, it's around $4-5,000! I think it's far too expensive, so I reckon 2 days were enough.

Both my boys attended Tutor Time's playgroup for about half a year, and I moved them to Yew Chung for their per-nursery.  My elder son is in St Catherine's now.

The pre-nusery is 5 days a week, 3 hours every day. School fees is $4850 or thereabout. I think they also have playgroup for under 2, but they are expensive (similar to Tutor Time's).

My elder child went through Yew Chung's pre-nusery and we were pleased with it. He had a very happy time and that's why we are sending the younger one there too. They have 2 teachers and 1 'helper' per class, and class size is about 26 students. Another native teacher taught them english then.

我2個仔（一個8歲、一個4歲）現在暑假mon-fri morning(9:00-1:00) 都有參加，大仔就學cambridge、速算、mandarin，細仔就學識數、eng story、mandarin，仲有d 一起學如畫畫、手工、make 汽球公仔、廚藝，放學都唔肯定！ 都係hkd2,000/4 weeks around一個人，因為idaly係新開，所以比其他playgroup平，但係開辦的係幾位幼稚園教師，另外我見佢地有另外請一些北京人來教普通話、外國人教英文（亦都係專教幼稚園小朋友），什至大d有cambridge及速算！黃昏有d比細d的小朋友班，玩得都幾開心！

The 2 year old academic year will start next Monday. I believe if your child only turns 2 in Oct/Nov/Dec, they will start a few months' later (that was the arrangement in my elder boy's day, not sure if this is still the arrangement).

Hi Chatterbox,

A bit outside the coverage of this topic... Just wanna have your advice if the interview for Yew Chung's pre-nursery is harsh or not?  What did it cover?  In English right?  'cos I also plan to send my boy to study Yew Chung nursery ...  but in fact the very first step of me is to look for a playgroup for him.  Thx in advance!

Hi Beckylui,

The interview for pre-nursery was not tough at all. I my days (3 years ago), we could choose whether to have the interviews in chinese or in english. We opted for the latter, so we saw the principal (Helen) herself. It was just a very informal chat, nothing taxing at all. The child was with us throughout but franking one cannot expect any sensible conversation from a 1+ year old!

Don;t worry about it, so long as they have vacancies, I am sure they will take your child on. Just called up and see when you can submit your application form and arrange for a school visit during school hours so you can see what the classes are like and how things are run. I did that as well.

I know there is a playgroup in Tsuen Wan Nan Fung Centre 19/F. You can try to call theis centre 21928108.Each group has 8 kids with Native English Teacher.The lesson is including singing,, topic ,, Art & Craft,, toys sharing..The teacher is nice.She has patience.It's good place for the kids to join the playgroup over there.
