如你考私校其實教署不會要你放棄第一或第二輪的, 只會來信問你你現在己被某校取錄 - 是否仍然繼續, 當你決定後回覆它, 它才再去信通知私校, 只怕私校收到教署通知不再留位俾你, 但這些書信一來一往應該未到21號.

How about the academic performance of both Raimondi and Kei Yan, which one is better ? Please advise.

因為基恩係中文小學,又無中學,所以仲諗緊!但我對高主教認識唔多,好問下小朋友讀得開唔開心?係咪一定可以升上直屬中學?老師係咪好傳統個種?

高主教過往會收約60%-70%小學學生, 現在不知如何, 基本上如你小朋友不是太突出(如上堂周圍走或做出某些特別行為又或特登發出怪聲!), 例如小朋友上堂傾談老師只會記缺點, 缺點達到某個程度就會扣操行分, 至於老師方面因為它一級有五班而每個老師的做法都有出入很難作準, 但一般都比較傳統的, 另你可參考呢度!

We have gone thro' the same decision making last year.  肥仔媽咪 and many others have given us valuable advises.

We have finally chosen Kei Yan due to following reasons:

- my son like it
- first 3 years teach by activity (my son was studied in Victoria which also practise the same)
- very good in sports
- teachers are very kind
- above average P.6 results (and getting better year on year)

It is true that Kei Yan is a Chinese school.  In fact, English is regarded by the principal as one key area to improve (see their website).  We are giving more English ECA to my son.

Private or DSS school are free to call themselves English or even internation school.  But we would more concern if the school can really provide an English environment - like how many native English teachers and students the school has hired and admitted.

Hope you can make your decision soon.

I also consider your points also.  Seems Raimondi's student are happy also.  So, it's very difficult for me.

If I choose Raimondi, I worry my son need spend much time to study.  And I need consider $$ also.

If I choose Kei Yan, I don't know their English standard.

That's my problem!!

any parents from Raimondi can give advice ? Are their children get heavy workload or stress for homework/ test/ dictation ?

I found the information from Raimondi:

Allocated to first choice: 73.5%
Allocated to frist 3 choice: 85%
Allocated to English School: 67%

Do you consider Kei Yan also?

I'm living in Causeway bay so that I don't know the chance if I apply Kei Yan for my first choice of lucky draw. I like this school also but want to understand more. My son is a active boy so that I think Kei Yan is quite suitable for him.
Please advise if I have great chance if apply another district's school ??

As I know, so many kids apply Kei Yan in the past few years.  You may find some figures from websites!  The chance around 1/3.  If you really like it, why not try?!

我老闆個仔, 03年apply基恩, 有大仔分&宗教分(即total20分), 第一round掂左!

過往基恩1st round, 25分實收, 20分要抽, 所以若沒有20分, 就不定沒有機會.

Primary school usually will not be famour unless it's got same-named secondary school.  In this case Raimondi Secondary was famous elite school.  But so far I heard (may not be true) the standard is only at band 2 nowaday.

Kei Yan does not have secondard school.  And hence you won't hear media talk about Kei Yan too much.  But in CWD, Kei Yan is the top 3 choices of many parents.
