ESF News: Best ever exam results
Best ever exam results
ESF has achieved its best ever 'A' level results, with the largest cohort of students in its history. Teachers and students have worked extremely hard to attain these grades and we should all be proud of their achievements. The proportion of grade A passes was an impressive 43%, compared to 39% last year. The equivalent figure in the UK was 24%. Alex Ma of South Island School received extensive coverage in the English and Chinese-language press for his excellent achievement of six grade As.
As you may know, all our secondary schools will be changing to the International Baccalaureate Diploma from 2007. Earlier this summer, Sha Tin College posted excellent results. A score of 36 or above is very well regarded by leading universities worldwide - 45% of the Sha Tin College cohort achieved this. 24 students scored over 40 points and one student - Suzanne Zhou - attained the perfect score of 45. The average score for the school was above the world average in all higher level subjects. This is an excellent platform on which our other schools can build. Our congratulations to all teachers and students at the college.
GCSE and IGCSE results are still being analysed. Our overall pass rate has always been very high indeed and therefore there is no significant year-on-year change.
