Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus now recruiting children ages 6 and above.  http://www.operahongkong.org

The Choir will perform with Macau Orchestra at the Cultural Centre Concert Hall in April.  Selected members will also have the chance to perform at Mozart opera "The Magic Flute" end of this year.

I don't know.  I only know that they only have 2 classes (1 for 10 & above while the other for 6-9).

as far as I know, should be much easier than HKCC for children aged 10.  they actually let my son had 30mins trial lesson right after the audition to see whether he enjoys the lesson.  I think they are looking for children who are interested in singing, acting & dancing.

學費幾多錢一個月(10歲以上)?上堂時間?

HKCC & OHK are quite different.  

HKCC:
focus on choral training (singing in big groups)
class size: 40-100
2 instructors / class
choir fee $355/mth
established 40yrs ago
performance opportunities at Annual Gala Concerts

OHK:
emphasize on vocal (solo / small ensemble) singing + acting  + dancing
around 20 children per class
2-3 instructors / class
$400/mth (Intermediate), $500/mth (Senior)
established in Jan 2008
performance opportunities at grand scale operas with International singers

I would say both are good.  But I picked OHK for my son cos HKCC didn't accept my son who was over 10 yrs old when he attended the 1st audition.

I checked from the website, the monthly fee of OHK is very expensive,
$800/mth (Intermediate), $1000/mth (Senior)

I heard that HKCC got v. few spaces so only 1/10 of the applicants are admitted.  I've also been told that they would not accept children aged over 10 unless they have great voices and have choral training background with good sightseeing skills.

Sorry, I mixed up the fee with another course my son is taking.  Yes, OHK is quite expensive.  But after looking at my son's recent performance on at the end of Dec, I was v. impressed and think it's worth the money.  My son enjoys joining the group & could now sing & dance with confidence.  I would rather spend less myself but give the best to my kid.

Thank you so much for your information! My daughter is in HKCC now, and I would like to join OHK too as she like music, singing and dancing.
