Honestly to avoid more members being penalized with the one-day ban, I have been trying to provide a status update to everyone as soon as I can.  I must emphasize it is a one-day ban only so I can assure you those members will be re-activated automatically, and so are their posts.  I personally do not want this to happen but we are left with no options if the members cannot be co-operative.

We have asked the members to be considerate and patience while we have to tackle the 20+pages of posts, but some members insist to create new threads or posts to express their own subjective views concerning the situation.  We must ask everyone to be patience so that we can concentrate on taking care of the case.  However, further discussions could only prolong the whole process and further inconvenience to everyone, which was not our intend.

BACKGROUND
For members who are unaware, it all started with a discussion concerning reading of pornographic materials in the thread "本港教師質素, 失望!!!".

We have received complaints concerning the contents of this thread and I have moved away the thread temporarily and also blocked the account motherotk.

On a separate thread created by stccmc with the topic "删文", the member judy has been banned, and finalized to a 14 days ban yesterday.  After review with the team, we have confirmed that we must make it clear the position of BK to discourage such languages/ attitudes towards any members, and that certainly including all 版主 and 超版.

CURRENT STATUS
Here are what we have achieved in the past two days:

(1) It has been found there are members using multiple accounts to discuss in the thread "本港教師質素, 失望!!!" during our first review.  However, we suspected there are more cases so we will need another review.  (To clarify, this is not the above mentioned member motherotk);

(2) I have been in contact with member motherotk and we are working out how to revise the contents of that thread.  The following is her own statement which she will like me to share: "I understand the interpretation of others will be different based on the members' different backgrounds, this is ok for me to make revision on the posts to avoid misinterpretations".  Her account will be re-activated automatically for approximately 12 days later, and so are her posts.

(3) No further reviews of any kind on the post by member judy and the penalty has been set to 14 days.  So her account will be re-activated automatically around 12 days later, and all her posts will be accessible again.

(4) The ban on Shoeshine is permanent, due to a previously permanent banned account.

FURTHER
Honestly I cannot commit a date to move back the thread "本港教師質素, 失望!!!" anytime soon, if members still have to continue further discussions on the way it was handled.  The reasons to ban the members for one-day (and more if this continue), is to display our determination to achieve our objective.  We chose to ban some of the members since we consider those comments unnecessary and could create further argument while this review is being undertaken.  The team does not have further resources to handle such situation.

Finally, we have a very clear message to all members:

"Discussions and even debates are always welcome, it never change.  But obviously some of the members are enjoying the process while testing each others' bottom lines through these interactions.  As a result of that, we would find unnecessary argument (on personal level) which can certainly be avoided.

We have zero tolerance for the members to test our bottom line as 版主 and 超版, and this applies to all members also.  版主 and 超版's tolerance level has been tested by some members in previous counts.  In order to monitor the forum effectively, I believe a mutual respect is required throughout the discussions.  It is not simply the actions itself which are to be penalized, but it is the intention behind these actions which are not welcome."

Finally, my personal apology to all members for the inconvenience caused during this incident.  However, it is a very clear position that we must withheld in order to make this place a better place for anyone to discuss and share.  Please understand this may not be the best solution but we are prepared to do whatever it takes to get things right.

POSITIVE and CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions are welcome but please bare in mind, we are in the process of upgrading the platform so a lot of "wishes" cannot be realized in the coming few months.  Please be reminded we will still enforce the temporarily ban until further notice.
