One more point, there is no interview this year. I think this policy favours those top Band 1 students in their applications because it reduces their anxiety of losing marks in the interview whilst they know they can have very good scores in all the other areas, i.e. EMB ranking, conduct, ECA and awards.

CCSC and BPS are good schools in the Eastern District and are highly competitive as both belong to the Band 1 top. As far as I know, there are a number of rounds of interviews in BPS. After each round, a certain number of applicants will be eliminated. You should study their criteria carefully against those of CCSC to see what are the differences and consider whether these differences favour your daughter's application to which school.

As for your reference, BPS's criteria are:
interview 50%
academic results 30%
ECA 20%
conduct at least B grade

Personally, if your daughter belongs to the top Band 1, no interview is better than having interviews because there may be risks in performance occurring during interviews. Perhaps you can make use of the two choices - one for CCSC and one for BPS. Nothing to lose in trying both schools. As for the priority, you and your daughter have to discuss together and make a final decision.

1. "教統局成績次第" 是否一定要向自己小學查問的?
2. 正考慮以下數間中學(東區), 可否告知你會有何意見.
a) 聖馬可中學-英中, 沒有直屬/聯繫小學, 似乎機會較好.
b) 港島民生書院-但是是中中, 根據學校近幾年都攪得很好,學生的成績都很好, 未來教育方向亦不錯. 帥資都很不錯, 不是中大畢業便是港大畢業生. 唯一的是, 此校是不是英中. 所以我有點猶豫不決.
c) 香港中國婦女會中學-此為英中, 但似乎沒有什麼特別之處.

During the admission briefing of CCSC, the Principal mentioned that they competed good girl students with BPS and boys with QC.  No harm to try both.  

As ccspy said it depends on you and your daughter's choice.

1. "教統局成績次第"是教統局根據學校提交報考名單，為考生排先後次序。如果小學叻D，小朋友可能排先D。小學是唔知ge，因為佢地唔知邊個對手。
2. 聖馬可同婦女會都係屬Band 1中ge英中，係Band 1中至Band 2頭學生必爭之地，而港島民生係Band 1尾至Band 2 頭中中，係Band 1尾至Band 2學生ge保險之選，佢有機會2010年轉為英中，但對你個女沒有用，因為轉變需要由該年中一轉起。

我覺得選校唔應該計易唔易入，而係計適唔適合小朋友讀。較易入D可能同你最終ge期望差左D，咁到時可能又會後悔。好多時做人最難係心息唔息，如果未爭過，好似又唔知點咁！我個時都心大心細，好彩個時只有一個選擇，當時我諗如果走精面入到間唔夠級數ge學校會對小朋友唔住，又人人都諗勁ge中學難入唔敢報，夠膽ge便有更大機會。於是橫係掂係，博一博，唔得先算，結果好彩又掂左。依家家長ge難處係多左個選擇，心大心細，驚買大開細，唔知點算。

你講得好啱, 人最怕唔心息, 左想右想反而慮事, 唔去爭將來一定會後悔. 其實張祝珊一定是我的第一志願, 不過祇是考慮是否要遞交另一間自行收生學校. 所以正考慮其它的英中學校. 若不apply第二間自行收生學校, 又怕統一派位時運氣不夠而錯失選好學校的機會, 真煩惱 !

我都好明白你ge心情，其實第二選擇係要計下自己實力。如果強，例如Band 1唔怕爭間勁ge，就算輸左仲有統一派位，因為Band 1派先。如果實力弱，例如Band 2就要買保險，因為Band 2派後，結果會難估計。

依家做家長一D都唔易，要識得部署，又要有膽色，非外人道也，小朋友好多時都唔明點解要咁，自己惟有自嘆一句「俯首甘作愚子牛」。
