Do you have the experience that when your child speaks better, he is more naughty?

I find it more difficult to control his behaviour right now.  He always bargains and argues with me.  
e.g.(1) If I ask him to do his assignment at 7:30, he must say, 'why not 7:40...'  This story never ends.  
e.g.(2) When he spells 'ice cream', he will say, "why should I spell cream as 'cream'?  I don't like letter 'a', I like to spell 'crem'."       It spends me a lot of time to correct his concept.

I am tired of arguing with him.

Dear all,
I have a silly question to ask moms with children going to P.1 next month.  Do your children reach the age requirement in speech therapist's assessment?  Here are some areas I want to know whether your children can manage or not...
(1) Narrate daily events.
(2) Story telling.
(3) Narrative comprehension i.e. can answer questions like who, when, what, why & how after listening to a story.
(4) Understand and follow commands with more than 4 elements.
(5) Problem solving technique e.g. If ....., then ......
(6) Prediction technique.
(7) Read the mind of the others.
(8) 猜迷語.
(9) Compliance (服從).

My child is weak in items (5) & (6) which greatly requires logical reasoning.  His compliance level is also below standard which will hinder his learning progress.  I am not satisfied with his performance and want to look for something new to improve the situation.  To me, the faster the improvement, the better.

Thanks.  Does your child have speech delay now?  I know some children passing the s.t. assessment but not speaking as good as those normal kids.  

Do you think that more exposure will strengthen items (5) & (6)?  My child is good at reciting books.

Dear Stella & Kmwun,
Thanks a lot for your detailed sharing.  According to s.t. assessment, my child has met the age level.   However, I strongly feel that the assessment results can't reflect the true picture of my son's speech ability.  Examination does not mean anything.  In fact, he is weak in the items that I posted before and he does not speak fluently when he expresses something that he is not familiar with.  I will let him keep on attending s.t. lesson so as to train him to speak as good as those normal children.

Children gathering is an excellent idea to train our children's social skill.   We can have outdoor gathering in autumn or winter.

Dear ALAL,
How do you work '朝六晚二'?  Do you sleep in the afternoon?  

My routine is 5:45a.m. to 10:30p.m.  Can't afford to sleep for 8 hours a day.   But can sleep more on Sat and Sun.
