浸小是一间全日制英文小学，中文科以普通话教授而其他学科则以英语教授，但家长不用过份担心，因为是渐进式的，不会一下子就全用英语及普通话，会逐步让孩子适应，小一及小二都会经常辅以广东话，待小孩子慢慢去刁惯。虽然英文科导师是外籍人士，上课自然用英语，但他们懂一点儿广东话，所以和孩子沟通上不会有太大困难。

学校上课周期，并非以周一至周五作为排序，而是以DAY 1 至 DAY 6为一个周期，这样可避免因假期而令某些学科有所延误。而整个年度亦非只有上/下学期，而是分为三个TERM，所以小朋友会有三次TERM TEST，而每个TERM都会有一个评估报告，TERM后就会有一个短假期(终于可以体验到非旺季去旅行的感觉了)。

学校上午时段属于一般上课时间，学科包括：中文/英文/数学/人民素质(即常识)/LIB(即图书课)/IS(即科学)/及其他的音乐，美术和体育等。

而下午时段则是属于OLE时间，所谓OLE，全称为OTHER LEARNING EXPERIENCE, 不用多作解释吧! 学校重视学生多元化发展，所以安排很多学刁活动在下午时段进行，希望透过各项活动去启发小朋友的兴趣和才能。基本上，电脑和普通话是必修科，占了两日时间，其余三日时间小朋友可以自行按喜好选择，科目内容相当丰富，部份课程是免费但部份需自费进行，除一般小朋友经常性爱学刁的乐器/舞蹈/体育(球类，游泳)以外，其至有宗教/天文学/剑桥英语/奂数/yoga...等等，算系几多元化。OLE亦系分期进行的，每个TERM要从新选择，换言之小朋友可以尝试及接触不同种类的活动。

教学方面，由于小儿是二年级生，所以我只可以分享二年级的情况，数学书需要购买一式两套(一套中文/一套英文编制)，上学期以中文辅以英文教授(用中文版)，下学期则以英语教授(改用英文版)，英文方面并非采用主流学校的教科书，主要订一本英英字典/PHONICS及STORY BOOKS. 英文科教国际音标，亦有教GRAMMAR, 不会有太多默书，反而要求小朋友用音标去串字，此外，非常注重阅读，老师按小朋友英文程度分级派发合适情度的书本，阅读后要做工作纸及报告，如果英文基础好的小朋友，可以跳级阅读，即二年级读三年级其至四年级的书籍。至于期考WRITING 方面，老师会给一个题目，要求学生作文，从作文去观察学生的英文学刁进度。其次较特别的是 IS(科学)，采用的是外国版的科学书，可以学科学又可以做实验，这是我囝囝最喜爱的科目，至于其他学科则与一般学校分别不大。

浸小重视家校合作，所以家长亦需同步学刁，每年会安排三个主修科目和两个选修科目，家长必需完成以上五个科目，科目内容一般环绕幼儿教育/心理学等等，对我们在培育孩子有一定的帮助，每次完成一个科目都会有一份家课，这是我最头痛的地方，因为要照顾两个小孩，又要返工，真是没有太多时间做功课了，我还有两份家课未做好，还在赶工呢!

每个人有不同的要求和理想，我希望是孩子乐读爱读，这学校己经确切做到了，孩子每天都愉快地出门上学，是最重要的!

我並不是浸小家長, 但有計劃今年報考王錦輝p1, 我仔今年升讀k3, 可否告知interview時, 家長和小朋友應注意些甚麼事情, 是否有才藝表演. portfolio是否在遞交報名表時一并遞上, 還是留待interview時才遞交.

Applying for P1, 08-09 (preparing a portfolio?)

Me too! I am very anxious to know about this as the deadline for entry will be on the 25th August this year.

Do we need to send the portfolio with the application form or we can wait and bring it along during the interview?

Can anybody help us? What did you do last year?

Hello 3lamma,

My daughter has joined the P1 camp but I'm not going there on Wed to order the uniform and book school bus. School says we can buy the uniform in retail shop and call the school bus company for discusssion. In addition, we are not allowed to stay with the kids when the camping activities commenced.

Are you going there ?

我想請問聽聞學校還新,
內部比較混亂,有無此事發生呢?
是否已是實行IB入大學呢?
學生大多數是中國人嗎?
資源豐厚嗎? (因為學費都幾貴)

記得上次簡介會上校長講過，向現任的家長進行調查，結果好小人會揀IB，所以學校暫時唔會行IB，將資源投放在其它環節上~~

hi all,

My son said the camp was good too. He said he liked maths games a lot. He also sang me a mandarin song but he forgot some of the lyrics. However, he comented that the food was bad and wasn't what I ordered for him. They were late to dismiss and they called out each child's name one by one, I think the process was too long and inefficient.

Nice to meet you here. My girl has also joint the orientation camp today but I have not yet in contact with her because I am still in the office.

By the way, how could you see the roster? I was told that parents are not allowed to stay with kids?

As I want to know more so that I can talk to my kid with some details, can you please share?
