I totally understand your feeling.  My girl is now in P.3 and her rank is quite high (no. 2 in the p.3 & no. 1 in her class).  But she is not that hard-working as compared to myself when I was at her age.  Sometimes quite absent-minded.  Even my mom asks me not to be so strick to her.  I believe 將勤補拙 but my husband always said that 女兒的腦還未開竅.  But I just can't sit & do nothing.  Or to the point may be I can't accept she got less than 85 marks one day.
