My boy is currently in Yip's Choir. He really likes singing. I am not keen on letting him attending both the Yip's choir and school choir since that would be too much practice and too much burden on his voice. He also has a very busy schedule and cannot afford joining two choir. I am thinking which one he should choose.
Based on my observation, Yip's choir is more professional and should be able to provide a better training than the school choir. If he stays with Yip's, he may be able to go to singing tour abroad when he grows up. There also seems to be more chances for performance. Yip's choir has both boys and girls. The good thing is that the sound of the choir is very rich (i.e. contains the voice of both boys and girls). However, the down side is that boys would not have as much chance as girls in a choir. Boys would always be the "green leaves".
On the other hand, joining the school choir would mean that he can participate in the choir competition with his schoolmates. He is in a boy school, so he will not be outweighted by girl (like in Yip's).
How would you choose? Staying with Yip's choir or joining the school choir instead?
