Hold the application of ESF kinder

I planned to submit application by hand on 2 Oct. Today I phoned to the school for confimation.
But the lady said they will amend the application form and collect $300 application fee. The fee is just approved by EMB. Now, the application form at the web is not updated, they will return to the parent accordingly if they submit the old version.

She also added the application form have not been design yet. I should visit the web site next week.
She said there is no different when you submit the form within October.

I think the Admin process is so poor. I suggest I bring the Cheque and fill in the application form on 2/10 at their school, they also reject as they did not have the form.

Comparing to the application fee of the other international schools, the $300 fee is still reasonable.

如果已收到舊form而沒有cheque,學校會寄信比我地要求我地補番張支票。

Yes Boxhill also need $200 non-refundable application fee.

唔洗擔心,they will return 俾你 but you need to send the new form.Do you check the website.

I went to the school (Tsing Yi) yesterday. But they did not receive my old form and cheque. Two other parent have the same situation with me.

I posted the new form and cheque today. The form has not different and the parent need to re-write, then post the updated form, it is very Quite trouble.

I posted on 10/2 already and today I got the call from
ESF. She told me that there is a new form and available
online now.  She requested me to fill in the new form and return with application fee.

I took a look and I called back ESF asking can I only sign on the acknowledgement and send it with the cheque.
The staff is very nice and she said "we  always encourage parents to fill in again but you can also sign on the
acknowledgement only and return with the cheque but
please  make sure you write a few words and let us
know you did submit the old before"

學校行政方面可能真係有些不足之處, 但你必須知道/了解/體諒每一間學校都會發生呢種/類似問題.

如果你真係覺得自己"為了子女，在(那間)學校面前，會變成弱者，受戲弄時，只會忍"....., 我認為你都係唔好再為你的子女申請/安排在(那間)學校讀書好了.

學校並不會專登戲弄家長或學生的.  如果有一間學校真係咁做, 你早走早'著'啦...

I got the letter from ESF, it seems answer some of our
questions

"Dear Parents

Application to Kindergarten 2008/2009

Thank You for your application to ESF International Kindergartens for the school year 2008/2009. We need to advise you that., with effective from 1st Oct 2007, a non-refundable fee of$300 has become effective for all applications. Regrettably, we are in position of having to inform you of this after we have received your application form. This is because we were waiting approval from the Education Bureau for the fee and this approval has only just been received. We were not in a position to advise you about the fee in advance of its approval.

The application fee helps us to meet the costs of administering admissions to the kindergarten. This is a lengthy and time-consuming process involving a detailed assessment of all applications to ensure a fair and professional evaluation is made of each application

In order for us to consider your application , we request that you prepare a cheque for $300 made payable to ESF Educational Services Limited, with your child's name and date of birth written on the back and return it to the kindergarten by the end of October. Please also complete and return the attached acknowledgement from which we will send back to you as a receipt for your fee

We are so sorry that your first encounter with us has been one in which we are asking you to pay a fee about which you had no prior notice. We understand that you may, as a result, decide not to proceed with your application. We hope, of course, that you will continue with the application for a place for your child.

Applications will be considered towards the end of this autumn term and we will write to you to advise whether a place is being offered to your child. We respectfully request that you do not contact the kindergarten to ask bout your child's application status after you had received the acknowledgement form back from us

It was mentioned in the application form that "medical reports" are required to assist with the processing of this application.  Do you think an immunization record would be sufficient or do I need to request my family doctor to issue a medical report?

I have a son studying in ESF kinder now .It is a really good school. Most of the teacher there are put their heart in teaching instead of just a job. You will found that how amazed of their means of teaching maths or science.
I live in Tai Po too. For school bus issuze , I sorry to say that this is a really upset part . The admin staff of the school bus company will ask your child aboard at 7 am or they will try to ask you to chose pm class instead. The tips on it is be tough.
