How to teach math to 5 yrs old???

my boy is 5 yrs old, but he have no clue about math, I tried to teach him but he is like: 5+1=6 and 5-1=6

thinking about trying kumon, have anyone tried?  I've sent him to selin before but not very effective it was very difficult getting him to do his math exercise everyday......

I'm really not patient enough to do this, are there anyone also in the same situation as me and can share some good "what to do or try"?

一步一步來, 不要一下子用數字又加又減. 先用實物試試, 例如放五個橙出來加一個係幾多等 ?
或放五個橙出來拿去一個係幾多等 ?

試吓將數學融入生活,如去超市及餐廳埋單時,俾小朋友計吓數,令他對數學產生興趣,知到數學是有用的。

我的小朋友學了kumon 己經2年多了,我覺得很有幫助,他今年K3,已可以計算3位數的加減法。最重要是加強了他的尊注力,他可以連續2小時坐低做功課都不會分心,但當然...呢2年的學習都會遇到不少困難.

用幾粒糖或朱古力豆同佢計, 講埋口訣: 5和1 合起來是6
答啱就奬佢一粒(可以遲D先食), 答唔啱就無得食,
亦可以同時叫佢寫低: 5+1=6, 如此類推

減, 可以趁佢食餅仔/食一塊塊水果時, 先叫佢數下有幾多塊, 咁食完一塊後, 還有幾塊呢? 咁就係減啦
我平時, 仲會叫個仔分埋俾我和佢哥哥, 分完之後再問佢, 分咗三份, 每人有幾多份呀? 叫佢數下.
係街度見到巴士, 問佢巴士共有幾多車輪? 每邊有幾多個? 咁兩邊共有幾多個車輪?
一件蛋糕分一半, 係2分1, 分三份, 每份係3分1
雖然佢暫時唔明白, 都念口璜咁講佢聽, 等佢聽得多就將呢D說話同佢見到摸到的事物連起來
現在開始咁教佢, 到小三時, 乘除數就唔會太困難了.

又可以玩pair牌, 只用1-5的牌, 抽2張出來, 叫佢加/減, 唔識可以數牌上的點數

小朋友學數學唔能夠急的, 因為數學係一些抽象概念, 如果佢個大腦未建立好呢D概念, 就要多從生活經驗去幫佢建立

佢地可能連加減咩意思都唔知呢
有個口訣: 加即是多, 減即是少

I found she can not use Kumon concept in her P1 Maths book although which is in Eng. We don't want stop since we also find Kumon is helping her a lots , may be not now but in future so if you find difficult try to think Kumom to start with, they will start from 1+1 = 2 or even to count 1,2,3,4 at the beginning.

雖然學校都有教數字組合,但返屋企既功課就吾多.我見阿仔連數公仔,都可以數到錯漏百出.於是,暑假開始,我自己隔日就出d數學題佢做.
由認識單,雙數,順數,倒數, 1+1=2, 1+2=3 (單數加單數, 雙數加雙數, 單數加雙數......出來的結果關係變化是?), 目前計到個位數加雙位數.

早排有朋友送左一本"4,5,6歲 公文加數練習本"給我.內容都係好淺,由1+1=2, 1+2=3, 1+3=4 ....... 由淺入深,先要佢明白數字的開係,千祈吾好一早就嚇怕佢.

另外,我每日都會湊仔返學&放學.
響上學途中,除左傾下日常話題,我會不時同佢計下數.有時又唱下歌仔,或講下故事,又或者串下英文生字咁囉.

總之,係吾覺意中同佢溫書,加強概念囉.因為,幼稚園係主張愉快學習既,又吾默書,又吾串字.但係一上到小學,無幾個星期,就要開始默書架喇. 所以,為免同時至要個小朋友,急急適應學習生活,唯有父母主動少少(少少好喇)幫佢地囉.
