2間都有小學,直升機會好大
真光環境比聖心好
真光功課小,聖心功課好似幾多
我女讀緊真光k1 am,見佢都好開心,k1 暫時讀左幾個月都冇咩功課
如果我係你,會考慮邊間近屋企....

Based on my understanding, I believe they are very different style of kindergartens (and primary school).

My daughter is studying in SHCK now and there are assignments to do everyday since the third month of K1.  (In the first 2 months around 2-3 per week)  I personally like this since my daughter is now very eager to do her homework every night which I think is a good habit.  (And she is also very happy and enjoy doing the assignment!)

Of course, it really depends on what school type you planned for your children.  True light's primary section have the first few years in active-learning mode so it is very different with Sacred Heart.

So, no need to compare since they are quite different so it is totally depends on the preferred way of teaching preferred.

One thing to add, children study in True Light kindergarten are particularly good in Chinese.  In my view I think Chinese is more difficult to learn than English so I think they have done a very good job.

Please advise if there are equal number of boys and girls in SHCK. Is it good to let my boy studying at SHCK?

one thing i want to mention, the primary school is for girls only.

it may not be a good choice, if you are looking for direct P1 promotion for a boy.

About 10% of SHCK children are boys. Many parents still like to send their boys to SHCK even though they will have no direct promotion.

As the other parents reminded, the primary section is for girls only. True Light primary on the other hand, is co-educational and have around 10-20% boys in the primary section.

The medium of instruction for True Light is Chinese for primary section and English for secondary section.

Oh there are 10% boy only, really a minority group. I know that there are no direct promotion for boy but Canossa schools are good and I live so close to SHCK. I think all the Canossa primary + secondary school are girl's school (I was a student of Canossa school before leaving HK).

Canossa (Quarry Bay)'s primary is now co-educational, the only one in the Canossian's.

may I know that if True Light / SH admit "small girl"

as my girl is born in Oct. thx.

Both kindergartens accept small girls but SH accepts a lot more small girls than TL.

Thanks Ian. If you had a boy, will you consider sending your boy to SHCK?

I strongly believe that SHCK must be a good kindy; otherwise, there will not have so many parents sending their kids to this school notwithstanding they live so far away. aii...but 10% boys only....is that good for my boy?

Certainly I will send my son to SHCK if I have a boy. Originally I was planning to send my younger daughter to another kindergarten but as her elder sister is studying here, I will apply next year and hope she can study in the same kindergarten now.

The percentage of boy should be lower as there are also lesser number of boys applying. The kindergarten will try to put more of the boys into the same class so usually we will have only 1-2 classes with boy only.
