It depends on how old your child is. If he/she is still in primary, then definitely go for KET for School.

我小朋友升小四. 應該考KET for schools, 但又撞正學校考完試的那個星期六

Just pick a suitable time for your kid, KET for schools or KET, they actually are no different. My kid took the KET exam this Mar.

我想問你地小朋友幾大? 我仔10歲, 升p5, 都想佢年尾考ket, 我係網上download 左d paper黎溫, 唔知夠唔夠?
仲要唔要去british council 買呢?

If you want to take KET in Nov., then don't forget that the registration deadline is Sep19.
My suggestion is to let him try the downloaded papers first. If you feel that his result of the sample papers needs further polishing, then buy some more practices for him.

The only difference is that the content and treatment of topics in Cambridge English: Key for Schools have been particularly targeted at the interests and experience of school pupils.
