樂基 (Kln Tong) is not a big KG but certainly is a very good KG. 2011 K3 graduates were around 110 only so it is definitely a small school in terms of size. And people would say it is very difficult to get it due to it's small size with small number of offers but massive applicants. Last year there were around 3000 applicants and they just offered around 120 places.

HKPS focus on bringing out kids' potential and promote kids' interest to learn, with that objective they therefore focus on training kids' presentation skills and encourage kids to speak out, to perform. HKPS focus on building kids' confidence. The kids in HKPS are all-rounded with excellent presentation skills. Their Eng/PTH is very strong.

I personally likes HKPS (Kln Tong) a lot. I admire their vision and their teaching approach to realize that.

No problem to connect to traditional school. In fact most graduates went to traditional schools.

I think 課程深或淺, homework 多唔多 is quite subjective.

I know some parents whose kids just graduated. They said the school has strengthened the Chinese curriculum in recent years. They think the K3 Chinese was quite 深. For English, needless to say English is always their strength.

K1 now is teaching phonics.

And obviously they are teaching school songs in the past few weeks. My son was singing the school songs at home all the time ...

Regarding homework, for K1, they have homework on Mon, Wed and Fri. Past 2 weeks were having dots drawing exercise on Mon and Wed; while for Fri is some experiential exercise encourage parents to talk/discuss school life with kids. To me I think the qty is ok.

For K2, 2 homework everyday, 4-5 at weekend.

K3 homework = 2 everyday from Monday to Thursday, 3-4 homework on Friday

It depends. If you go to international section, parents have to communicate with teachers with English/Mandarin. But, the Mandarin teacher also speak English.

My daughter is now at K3 in HKPS.  We like this school very much.  The language environment is excellent.  The kids learn very good English and PTH.

The homework loading is not high in my opinion.  My daughter can finish it within 15 - 30 minutes every day.

For Chinese, they are now writing sentences e.g. 我用眼睛看東西.

I don't know whether it is difficult or not because I have not compared with other schools.

is this a right choice if i target international school for primary? since i think it can give a great chinese foundation for kids!
