如果想考海外大學，應何時考英文次試

仔仔現在F.5，如果想買保險，考定外國大學，但學校功課又很繁忙，應該何時開始準備及應考 IELTS, SAT 或 Toefl 等試比較好？

考IELTS其實唔駛點準備，最緊要買本sample睇睇個format係如何。
你預考兩次，比我今年暑假黎一次，唔理想半年後再試。

You can find the past papers (Hong Kong and overseas centers) on the internet. My son said practicing the past papers is better than those exercise books bought at book stores.

If you apply the exam through British Council, they will provide you 30 hours on line practice for free.

If you target uni in US or Canada, your son will need to take both toefl and SAT but some community college may not require the tests. So you have to check out the admission criteria of the institution(s) you have interest. The wise is put more effort on toelf. If he could get a high scores (over 100) in toefl, he still have a chance of get admitted to good college. IELTS is a test for UK schools, US/Canada colleges do not consider at all.

TOEFL is more relevant. In addition, TOEFL can be taken almost every month.
