非聯招報讀醫學 IB 至少43分

以IB成績通過非聯招要考入中大、港大的法律或醫學院，有基本的條件，中大明言２０１２年因有兩條隊入醫學院，非聯招的學額將比過往的50個學額有所增加，但預計2013年回復正常，維持約50個學額左右。

每年具備其他學歷的非聯招學生申請入讀醫學院的約有６００人，爭50個名額，表面看來似不難，但實際申請醫學院的基本IB要求及指引是起 碼40分(不計TOK)，3 科HL必須具備兩科7分、一科6分，其中必須包括化學，另一科最好是生物，倘加上TOK要43分或以上;估計2013年，IB沒有４４分，機會較微。

至於中大法律，基本要求是英文HL必須有A1、A2或B，倘是Standard Level，一要有A1或A2，但這只是基本要求，估計IB的門檻成績加上TOK一定不少於40分。

港大醫科的IB分數要求及其他條件，不會比中大低，不過，港大較重整體考慮，也許40分加TOK３分已有機會;港大較喜歡取錄有國際及海外學習經歷的學生，相信會比本地的國際學校學生有優勢。同樣在法學方面，也會有這些因素。

我想補充少少。在中大600申請者中有一半根本不達標，達標者約300人，只有150人有得面試。50人名額中有三份一給與Graduates。2/3 是IB, GCE AL....。

For LLB, CU's minimum requirement (including TOK) is 38 IB points and HKU's is 41.

In case of medicine, CU admitted more non-jupas students than HKU did (before 2012). CU admitted about 50 NJ students while HKU admitted less than 50 NJ students.

Since there are increases of places to 210, each university may admit more non-jupas students. CU may admitted 1/3 non-jupas applicants (around 70) while HKU may admit 25% (around 50).

IB applicants can apply for fast track of CU and HKU. The deadline is around the end of October /early Novermber. Please check the webpages of CU and HKU.

If your have outstanding academic resuit and good interviews, you will probably receive offers in February to April 2012. However, there is no harm to apply under fast track because if you are not selected for an interview/offer, they will defer your application to normal route of application.

Thanks for reply,  我想知道 透過fsat track 申請入U, 可報选最多幾多科？是否每一科都要面試？如果初步無比offer, 在進入   main round  遴选前可否修改所选的科目？ 謝謝！

For Non-Jupas application, you can apply for 3 courses only to CU or HKU. I have no experience in lodging applications to other university.

For example, you can apply for medicine (1st choice); biomedical engineering (2nd choice) and science (3rd choice) to CU. You can also apply for BBA (Law), LLB and BSS (Govn & Law) to HKU.

Once you tick you want your application to be considered in the fast track, each faculty concerned will consider your application.

Last year, my daughter was called upon by the 2nd choice faculty of CU to attend an interview, one month later, she was asked to attend an interview by the 1st choice faculty. At the end of the day, she was offered admission by the 1st choice faculty.

You cannot change your choice once it is submitted.So in the main round, the preference is the same as you put in the application form.

Basically, non-jupas applicants are always invited for interviews if the faculties concerned are interested in your application. My daughter did attend 2 interviews with CU and one interview with HKU.

Whether you apply under the fast track or normal route, you may be selected for an interview which is based on the material present in your application as well as your predicted grade of your public examinations. If the admission committee is interested on your application, you may be selected for an interview. If they are satisfied with your interview, they may give you a conditional offer specifying the grades you should obtain in your public examinations. If you meet the conditions, the offer becomes unconditional and you are admitted.

According to the webpages of the universities, they will take a holistic approach when they consider the Non-Jupas application. That means no one factor would dominate the whole application (save it is a clear case that the predicted grade is far below the grades obtained by successful students for the past years). If your whole application present a competitive application, I think the admission committee will select you for an interview.

Unless your grades for a particular subject, there is no harm to make an application. After all you have 3 choices in each application. You may apply for a subject which requests the results you can safely achieve.
