我囡是第一界DSE, 舊年報左德國大學,因香港始終沒有agent,全要自己攬, 但始終DSE對德來說,都唔係好知係乜, 到放榜後, 把成績寄去, 佢地話成績OK, 不過要補回HKCEE 及A level成績,於是再同佢地講,HK 已再沒有hkcee & a level,佢地話唔得,來來往往解釋幾次, 又上德國領事certified好多文件, 不過最後由於沒有hkcee & a level 成績而失敗左. 希望一年後, 佢地知道DSE係乜喇!

Medicine at German universities? The number one pre-requisite is to obtain at least C1 level in German. (There is a specific German language test for entrance to German universities, but I forgot the name. You can check with Goethe Institute) And I don't know if they'd require C2 in German for medicine. After all, only top German students who finished abitur at a high grade would apply and can get accepted to medicine. Hence, their German language requirement may be slightly higher than other subjects. Besides, I don't think there's any medicine degrees in Germany that're taught in English. For subjects like medicine or law, it's better to study at wherever you want to work in. So if you don't want to become a doctor in Germany, don't study medicine in Germany, study somewhere else. (and due to the fact that a doctor has to face different patients, their German requirement for international students may be higher as well)

Does your daughter speak German already? If not, it's quite impossible. Besides, universities only least THE LEAST requirement, unless it's subject specific. So grade requirements for medicine may be much higher than that.

Costs of living would depend on which city she'll be studying in.

Thanks for your info. I am also looking at German University requirement for my daughter who is F.1 now. Yes, at least C1 German language level if apply Uni . My daughter is studying German in DSS school now, and will have an examination on F.3 for C1 level.  Moreover, she has EU passport, may I know how much for the tutorial fee in Uni for EU or non EU citizen ? Thanks !

In most "states" (Bundesländer) in Germany, EU and non EU citizens pay the same fees (which are very minimal comparing to countries like the US, UK or Canada) In some states, tuition fees are free. And this also applies for both EU and non EU citizens.

我个女之前係讀德瑞国际学校既，学校每年二三月左右会安排去德語国家滑雪，暑假我哋自己D小朋友都会自己组团去入German camp既,平时就会同德国部的德国人同学講下德文，德国人老师就緊係總有一个係左近，4年下來,小女講聽寫德文無難度，也考了gcse o level ,佢好欣賞德國人的做事方式，佢而家在英国讀y10,話以后想去德国讀engineer，我當年係法国大学毕业既.,好明白，識講識寫同讀U，所需的語言能力係好大個gap的，讀得好苦，但我當年父母無錢俾我去英美讀，細姨又住法國，讀法国公立大学，易入難出，又吾使交学费，所以才行此路，返香港搵工，也只在法國公司，路好細，所以我勸我個女吾好唸德国，一心在英國考u,或回流香港讀。

我唸公立正式的無乜可能吧，呀女学校老师話如果要入德国U,要考个德文語言能力試，好難既，我睇gothe institute有呢个course讀。如果唸住去德国用英文上課，你覚得現實嗎？仲係讀医咁難既科！

其實德國讀醫係主要用德文, 同埋德國好多, 或者可話大部份醫生既主要語言係德文, 而佢地既英文只係好一般, 有D直頭唔識英文! 有次我去急証個醫生唔識英文, 仲要個護士去同我translate.

至於讀其他科返到香港都有出路, 香港都有好多德國公司.

識德文都好有用, 有好几個國家德文都主流語言, 唔一定返香港做野架嘛.

No, not really. And it really depends on the major. Most of these courses that are conducted in English are business degrees. In terms of Medicine, I don't think you'll be able to find a degree course that's conducted in English.
Actually, I think you should check out DAAD in HK. It's the official "agency" for students in HK who're interested in studying university in Germany. You can go up to their office at anytime, or book a session in advance, to enquire about studying in Germany. I'm sure they'll be able to answer your questions. (Their office is at Baptist University)

my son is also considering to study University in Germany. He mostly will study engineering.  He has been exchanged to Germany and he can speak very good in German but his written is not that good. I know that the fee is not that much and the living expense is around HK$5k per month (food and apartment). But he can stay with his friend in different parts of germany so the cost would be a little bit cheaper. Most people in northern Germany can speak very good English and in south Germany only fair. If you study University of Hamburg, some faculties use English as teaching medium. Hope this can help.
