A difference of 2 months and you think it may be too late?    How will you survive bringing up your baby for the next 20 years?  Buy the book and work on getting a new mindset.  This is a marathon!

I'm afraid you are misunderstood.
My little one is 1.5 yr old, but not 6 months :)
As I cannot find any sample, just afraid the books and materials will suit for those under 1 yr old only.

anyway, thanks for your reply.

Question is, why do you think it is necessary.  Memorizing the words does not mean the child is an early reader.  It does not mean cultivating an interest in reading.  Why do you want your child to read at 1 year old and not 4?  Four years old is too late?   Too late for what?

I have seen so many kids with good reading skills at 4 or 5 years and went on to become keen readers for many many years, without any of these flash cards.

1.5 yrs old is not too late and a good time to start.  Don't focus on memorizing the words though.  The point of early reading is to get the child interested in stories and books.

It is never too late to learn anything. My son has good English reading skills when he was very young, but he only started to learn how to read Chin at age 4. However, we managed to find some Chin books that really interested him. Even though a book is over his ability, he would try to read through it and he became a fluent reader in Chinese very quickly.

I think knowing those words makes kids interested in reading book in someway ~ u won't read Russian  ...
Knowing many words in flash cards does not make up any stories or make any sense.  Does not equal to cultivating interests in reading.  Reading can be just pictures to start with, then one word in a page, two words in a page, etc.  Reading books and learn words along the way in the context of the books is far better than learning 500 words through flash cards without the context.

I agree. But I did see some kids understanding the words at 2! I think really depends on how each kid like to learn.

我會直接說: 無用的!

無論小朋友幾多個月大,用時間去玩閃卡,不如跟孩子多溝通、說笑和玩,對建立孩子更有幫助。

我都有買ybcr, 但睇返轉頭其實宜家個囡識既字都係從日常生活學返黎而唔係透個套教材, 我無用過d flashcard, 只係俾d書佢睇, 個人建議可以買其他書俾小朋友睇, 因為ybcr都係單字為主, 其實好多地方你都會教到佢地識呢d字
