Going to a less challenging school, well is it really less challenging, should not be a good solution at all. There is no guarantee that all children's academic strengths would be still the same after 3 long years.
I would still try my utmost to help my kid going to the best of his/her choice and help the kid to keep in the top 30% basket in S3.
Having said that, finding out how many places for your would be chosen subject(s) is important as well.
Children also keep changing their mind about what they want to do. So we also need to know how many subjects are offering even they might not have interest in those subjects at this very moment.
Another might be useful benchmark, usually good schools can offer those so called unimportant subjects such as visual art, music and physical education. |
