HKU與法律相關的四個課程

大家好! 小女下年考DSE, 有志從事律師工作. 以我所知, HKU有以下相關課程:
1. Bachelor of Laws,
2. Bachelor of Business Administration (Law)
3. Bachelor of Social Sciences (Government and Laws)
4.  Bachelor of Arts (Literary Studies) and Bachelor of Laws
我只知2-4係double degree, 要讀5年. 其餘分別就 不知了. 請問BK家長可否分享多一些資料?
請問在band A內, 是否只應在1-4中選其一, 而不要填全部三個? 謝 !

先行謝謝! 請問LLB, BBA-LAW, BSC-GL三者又如何取捨? 因這三個課程收生成績相約. 而前者的名額有80人, 後兩者好似各自只收20人. 再請賜教!

LLB focus on law subjects,做律師 good enough.
其他3個就視乎各人喜好，即如想件蛋糕上面加層乜cream/fruits o甘，且有D人諗住多張刀搵食著數D。

According to the Prospectus of HKU, the quota for LLB, BBA(Law) and BSS(GL) are respectively 100, 70 and 50.
It appears that the most popular two programme are LLB and BBA(Law).Of course, the KCL-HKU program is very hot. As a parent, I would leave it to the choice of my kid.

If you are interested in court practice, I think LLB should be better because it would offer more law courses to the students. With a 5-year duration, he can study an LLM program at a top top top overseas universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard etc after graduation. If he decides to enter the job market after completion of PCLL, he is still one year earlier than his contemporaries who opt for BBA(Law).

If he is interested in the solicitors' practice such as IPO, M&A, banking or other lucrative practice, he should take the BBA(Law) because he would have two degrees in 5 years, one of which is business administration. My son told me that BBA(Law) graduates have certain edge amongst the international law firms.

謝! 很詳細的解釋, 我會叫 小女多看數遍. 另外, 選讀BSS(GL)又有何分別? 在別的論壇中, 看到有些BBA(LAW)/ BSS(GL)的畢業生多不會再讀PCLL, 對嗎? 再次謝謝!

It is true that some BSS(GL) graduates did not go to study PCLL because they were recruited as AO or other government posts by the government. However, the number should not be too many.
Some of the BBA (Law) graduates did not go to study PCLL because they were more interested in accounting or banking and they were recruited by accounting firms or banks after graduation. Again, the number should not be too many.

Some of the BSS (GL) or BBA (Law) graduates did not study PCLL because of the poor academic results. At the end of the day, they were not competitive enough for PCLL spaces. Rumor is that there are about 70% graduates, (no matter from LLB, BBA(Law), BSS(GL) or JD) who manage to gain PCLL spaces each year (in case of HKU).

It surprised me not all enter PCLL. They are supposed to be cream of the cream.

I think GL and BBA-Law students are among the best in the HKU. Whether they study PCLL or not is a matter of personal choice.
Anyway, the admission scores of all four programmes are very high. Only slightly lower than MBBS.
