I guess your son is in the same competition with my daughter.  Is he No. 43 ?  

Have you checked if it will breach the rule for changing the key ?  There are only a few 'high notes'in that song which could sometimes be resolved by technique.

This song can be "sung in any key" as shown on the amendment.
The problem is not just the few high notes.  Seems like he has difficulty in keeping the same tone colour when running from low to high and high to low.  I tried a few keys for him and F+ is not suitable for him.

Oh, I see.  I suppose you are a teacher too and you must know better than me.  In that case maybe I will try different keys for my girl too.  Thanks and see you in the competition.

My kids will be sung on 15/3. We didn't take any lesson fr private teacher. Do we need to have accompaniment for the kids? Is it OK for the kid to "清唱"?

Do you know whether the pianoist

1. should only be limited to play the accompaniment part, or
2. can also play the singing melody?

The pianoist and my friends who were choir member told me (1) but someone told me (2)



But I found it is very difficult for my son to sing if he just listened to the accompaniment part :-|

Hi all,

My daughter has attended the competition yesterday and got "Distinction" grade. According to the competition requirement, all participants need an accompanist to play the piano part. Since this competition is open for kids with age 4 to 7, most kindergarten kids like to singing with a lot of "表情" and "動作" and quite interesting actually. However, the judge really pay much attention on their singing skills and so .... most of the "Distinction" are offered to primary school student (age 6 & 7). Anyway, if you just want to offer an opportunity for the kids to participate in this kind of competition, just relax and let them enjoy the event.

我個女係唱英文版, 舊年佢都有參加呢個項目比賽, 好好彩上次都係 "Distinction". 今年不同之處係首歌規定係 "aul's little hen" 而舊年係自選一首中/英文歌曲 (一分鐘完成為限). 可能佢本身唱開合唱團, 同埋學校音樂老師都有安排時間練習, 所以今年成績都不錯.....

my two daughters also attend the competition for "aul's little hen" and "Good night song".  But both are very   .  So I don't expect any higher mark   , just want to give them the experience.
